This collection feels like a whole bunch of postcards from the loneliest time in modern history (aka 2020 through 2022). Most of my photo work from this time is divided between documented wanderings through the alleys and back streets of Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood and an incessant search for camaraderie in the isolating world of a post-pandemic Europe. More than anything, it looks like almost two years of perpetual winter, which is how I imagine many of us still feel about that stretch of time. Photos start at the top in Chicago, and end with half-empty vessel in Berlin, as I did.
