Tons of my best jokes and comics start out as some stressed out scribble in a sketchbook or an untitled out-of-breath voice memo from a morning walk. I like it this way, and I like paper sketchbooks as a starting point for something that evolves into a digital illustration. A "big joy" of mine is finding ways to make fun of the hard stuff, to tell stories about real life and about trying really hard all the time, and to make light of my own follies in the big race to death. Really though, I just love drawing, turning drawings into real life stuff and connecting with other human beings about life through drawings. So far it's a lot more expensive than therapy.

. . . and if you like comics and illustrated stories, and would like some of them sent to you sort of regularly, I put out a mean newsletter called Tudo Bem
